Originally this page is in response to requests to outline my years activities from fellow bikepackers and those who aspire to do more cycle touring. However I feel there were too many touring blogs on the internet so I decided to stop at the end of 2006.

On most of my journeys I do make notes, my biggest problem is getting those notes onto a computer. Only when requested for a publication or to put something onto the web, do I take time to type up the notes. My cycle tours usually start from home as I believe the adventure then starts as soon as you leave your front door. Occasionally I use a train, ferry or bus for part of a journey. I never use a car when bikepacking.

Also at this time could I add that; a day rarely goes by when I do not cycle. When at home I usually cycle 20 to 30 miles daily round the lanes near my Worcestershire home. Living out in the country a journey to get an evening paper at our nearest store is a minimum 6 miles.

Due to a request from others thinking about undertaking the tour I have added my diary notes from the Ireland E2E tour of May 2012.
